Volunteer Testimonials -
It is a privilege and a delight to serve meals at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen. The guests are so appreciative of the meals and the time and effort given by the volunteers. At St. Joseph's Medical Center, there is never a problem getting volunteers for this particular event. Everyone who serves loves to do it. Karen A. DuBord Director Mission/Values St. Joseph Medical Center Once upon a time... our church decided to sign on for a day a month. I volunteered to be coordinator. I do NOT like to cook, but have always been interested in hunger issues. The Soup Kitchen is a place to get past the issues and just get to work. That was nine years ago. Many of the guests are the same, and we look forward to catching up on news. It has been a pleasure serving them. I still learn each time, not to judge folks, but to enjoy them! Jan Kurtz I haven't been able to volunteer at the Soup Kitchen for quite some time now. However, I loved doing so. The need for the meal and the fellowship was great and judging by the smiles of people's faces, it was met by the services provided. As a volunteer, I know that I left feeling full--having met terrific people and by doing something to help make their day. Thanks for the opportunity! Continued success! B
